Dear Engl 217, Last entry, can’t believe the semester is almost done. I had my last online class today and my finals are next week. By this time next week, I should be done with the semester for good. I had a Chemistry exam on Monday and I got 100 on it and with that my failing grade in that class is gone. I was looking over my grades and I see that if I get a 90+ on all my finals, I should end up a 4.0 GPA for this semester. Hopefully, that’s what happens. I am the most …

What is time anyways? Everyday is just a repeat of the next. I had a math test where I got a 75. If I do all my homework and get a 90+ on the final, I can still get an A grade in the class. I had a Music paper to submit and I feel good about that essay. I hope I will get a 100 on this as well. I finished reading The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri and it was alright. I was able to relate to it due to the whole immigration story line. I am getting Circe …

Dear Engl 217, This week has been a roller-coaster. It started good; I hung out with a few of my friends (none of us tested positive and we wore masks) and it was so much fun. The second half of the week was not so good due to family issues. However, today, I am feeling better. I just want to throw away my phone and move to a new country and start anew but I have to learn to make best of what is given to me. I have been keeping up with my assignments and I have been studying …

Dear Engl 217, This week has been rather intense. It started out pretty great. I got a 91 on my Physics test which I was extremely happy about. Physics is the hardest class I have this semester and by the look of it, I can surely end the class with a A grade. I also got my first shot of the Covid vaccine. I had a slight arm ache but other than I feel fine. A lot of personal issues piled up in the last few days and I have been feeling pretty frustrated. It feels like this pandemic will …

Dear Engl 217, This week started terribly. I failed my Chemistry test and my Math test. I was really bummed out. But then I realized that my lowest test grade in Chemistry will be dropped and my Math homework serves as an extra credit worth 10% of my grade. This means that I still have a chance to bring up my grades in both my classes. I have a Physics test on Monday and I have to ace the test because unlike other classes, I do not have a chance to redeem myself in that class. Unfortunately, Physics is my …

Dear Engl 217, I have completed my two week quarantine period for Covid and honestly I am so relieved. It was not a fun experience and I do not recommend being infected. It is just so disappointing that you can be really careful from your side but get affected due to the others who do not bother wearing masks or practice hygiene. I am feeling a lot better now. My sense of smell isn’t completely back but it is getting better and I am constantly exhausted. Hopefully, I am able to go back to being normal. Spring break was very …

Dear Engl 217, This has been a hectic week. I had a million assignments due and two midterms. Guess what? I got a 100 on my math test, again! I was so happy. Hopefully I can keep this streak going and secure a 4.0 GPA. I also had a music midterm and I had to write an analysis paper about a concert. I wrote about Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour and drew parallels to the Middle Ages and Renaissance music we explored in class. I was quite proud of the 5 pages I turned in. Hopefully, I get an A …

March 20, 2021 Dear Engl 217, I haven’t updated you about my life in over two weeks. I apologize. I had a Physics midterm and a Chemistry midterm. I scored an 89 on my Physics test and I was a little upset because it was not an A grade but I am determined to do better next time. However, I scored a 100 on my Chemistry test and I was elated! I hope to keep to keep up with my streak. I do have a Math test coming up this week and I am worried. Just because I did well …

February 26, 2021 Dear Engl 217, I had my first test of the semester. I was dreading the Calculus III test because math isn’t my strongest suit. I studied all weekend and did about fifty practice problems. I really wanted to do well on the test. One the test day, my professor made it so that the class could take the test any time of the day, at our convenience. I clearly wrote down my calculations and triple checked every single step. I was confident with my answers and I even finished half an hour early. I was dreading pressing …
